• Textbook:   “Galaxies in the Universe” (2^nd Edition) by Sparke & Gallagher (Cambridge University Press). See textbook for a list of recommended reading material.
• Course Level: This is a 3^rd year Astronomy course that assumes that you have completed most 2^nd year Physics courses. A strong Astronomy background and interest in Astronomy is assumed.
• Course Content:  Please take the references below as indicative. Some material may be presented in abbreviated form or explored in more detail during the lectures. Attendance to lectures is not required but highly recommended. Lecture notes will be posted at the end of every week (follow the links below). Note that dates given below are indicative and subject to change. Firm dates for due assignments will be announced with each assignment.
