GIM2D/GBKG

Parameters
in_image = "junkjunk2" Name of input image
msk_image = "gx120y120_m" Name of segmentation image
(dohist = no) Compute background pixel histogram (yes/no)?
(ohist = "gx304y89.bh") Name of output histogram file
(bsize = 0.1) Bin size in background sigmas
(mode = "q")
GBKG uses all the background pixels in the segmentation image
of a science image to compute the following background parameters:
number of background pixels, mean, median, mode, sigma, minimum and
maximum values. If dohist is set to yes, then
GBKG will produce a background pixel intensity histogram and
save it to the file ohist. This histogram is very useful to
study the effect of low-energy cosmic rays on background
parameters. It is important to note that all background pixels within
5 pixels of an object pixel are not included in the background
calculations. This is to insure that pixels just below the object flux
threshold do not significantly affect background estimates.
