Screening/symptom - diagnosis - treatment - survival are milestones in the journey of cancer patients. Treatment is an important intervention and is customized for individual patients. Treatment outcome can be cure (or not) and with or without complications. Prospective assessment of treatment outcome is not systematically carried out around the world. Properly done, prospective outcomes data can provide extremely valuable information that would only be available through highly structured and expensive clinical trials otherwise. British Columbia is uniquely placed to lead the world in this initiative. Come and find out why and learn about some work currently underway in the BC Cancer Agency to move this initiative forward.
