Right: A stroboscopic projection of a high resolution numerical simulation of a possible orbit of the Triangulum galaxy around Andromeda, that reproduces much of the observed details of these galaxies (see Andromeda.mov). These simulations suggest that Triangulum will eventually be devoured by its massive neighbour, contributing to the ongoing formation of the Andromeda Galaxy.

A movie showing a numerical simulation of the possible orbit of the Triangulum galaxy around Andromeda, that reproduces much of the observed details of these galaxies, particularly the large distortion seen surrounding the disk of Triangulum. Stars are pulled from Triangulum as it orbits Andromeda due to the strong gravity of this massive galaxy. These stars are consumed by Andromeda and contribute to its ongoing growth.
