The location of the Andromeda galaxy ("Messier 31", or M31) and Triangulum galaxy (M33) on the sky, with bright stars and constellations marked.  These galaxies are named after the constellations in which they are seen. The Andromeda Galaxy can be seen by the naked eye on a clear night in the northern hemisphere, and the Triangulum galaxy can be seen using a small telescope. They are seperated by approximately 15 degrees, and both galaxies are located more than 2,500,000 light years away. Image made using Google Sky.
